Im looking to purchase a Kodak Easyshare CX7430 and Im just wondering if I would be able to put off a battery charger purchase for the time being and just charge the batteries by plugging in the camera to the wall. Is thispossible? if so, how long does recharging take? Im travelling, and I really want to carry as little as possible.

The CX7430 uses (2) AA batteries. You can use alkalines or disposable Li-Ions, but I think you'll find that buying a charger and a supply of NiMH batteries will be a lot cheaper in the long run.

You can't recharge the AA alkalines or the Li-Ions, inside the camera or out. I don't think the CX7430 has a built in charger for the NiMH's.

Some of the newer Kodaks, such as the DX7440 use a docking system to recharge a proprietary Li-Ion battery. The dock is optional equipment.
