Default Nikon D100 vs. Canon D60 with 24-85 zoom

Which camera takes a better (more definition, better real life color) photograph for an 8x10 studio still given the same type of zoom lens 24-85etc?

Which camera is easier to get this best picture?

I'm not getting good results with the Nikon and can switch to Canon if I want but would like to know what others have found in this narrow range. I intend to use this camera for event and people photography- I don't do sports.

Shedding light on this would be invaluable to me. Thank you.

In the catagory that your looking at I would surely belive that the Fuji S2 would be easier and better... Yes, I have the S2 but the other 2 are great cameras but require very good glass and light (D60) or post processing for the D100.

I've heard the D60 is being discontinued. Check the Cannon forums..
