With a 4 megapixel camera, if you took a picture of some typed text, at such a zoom that is neutral compared to what you see, being twice as far asthe maximum distance where the text can be read, you could actually read the text in playback.

Such is not the case with films, even though looking with a magnifying glass at the negative, you lkely could not do this. Most likely because of poor processing quality.

The marvel of digital photography, say at 8 megapixels, you take pictures on a trip, and back home browse through the pictures and zooming you could see things that your eyes did not!
