I have a Canon Powershot A-520. I have my resolution set on my camera at 'L", "S" which allows up to 237 pictures on my 512 SD card. After shooting pictures, I save them to a CD-R. The problem I'm having, after saving pics to a CD-R (I use Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum), some I can view and others I can't. When placing my CD-R in my DVD player, some files won't display, and my DVD player states " Incompatible file size". Could this have anything to do with my Camera settings for resolution and compression? It does seem to depend on the size of the picture file, but I didn't think that would matter. I hope I've explained this well enough, cause I don't know how else to describe the problem.

If your DVD player has a file size that it likes, find out what that is. If there's nothing in the DVD's documentation about it, look at the file size of some of the pix that it will display and the file sizes of some that it won't play. From this, you might be able to get a pretty good idea of the upper limit that it will display reliably.

There are some very small variations in the file size of pix straight out of the camera even if they are all shot at the same settings. Different types of scenes compress more efficiently than others.

If you want a picture CD that will play through reliably on your DVD player, you may well have to make a special display copy of your master CD with all the file sizes consistant. You can do that if you have an editor that will do batch resizing. Sounds like a lot of trouble, but I like playing stuff on the TV, too. Maybe if you upgraded to a DVD burner it would play better on your machine -- or, not...
