Default Tips on taking good pics

Okay, I know there are a ton of websites I can go to.

Where are they?

Any quick tips/advice to get started?

Many people talk well of:

I've collected more links on this subject than I ever care to actually look at. Here are a few more:

(This one is about digital darkroom/photoshop stuff mostly. But not exclusively.)

Now that I've given you a few, here is how I found them and more. I read forums and found people's web pages (usually they put a link in their signatures in their posts.) I only post messages here, but I skim about 6-7 forums for interesting things every few days. This quickly taught me which lenses were good and which weren't. Stores which people like or dislike. Good CF brands. How AutoFocus works. Just how serious you have to take Wedding photography if you are going to do it professionally. Tons of info.

When I read a technique post, I see if they said things which made sense and I liked their writing. If so I'd go look at their home page. What draws people to contribue to a forum also drives them to post useful things on their home pages. Links to other resources. Articles they've written. I have looked at more "links" pages than "gallery" pages on these people's sites. Then I follow those links. If it takes me somewhere interesting, I save a bookmark in my "tips/technique" folder. And I save a link to the origional person's home page. I've learned a lot by doing this.

Like you, I have info bleeding out my ears. But I feel I learned enough to make good decisions about what camera and lenses to buy and enough about photography to understand what I'm doing with the camera and its settings. I can't wait to get my 10D this week and apply some of this stuff.
