I just gave a relative a 4gb Sandisk Extreme III SDHC card for a camera that I thought was very recently purchased (and thus SDHC compatible) but it is actually an HP R727 that he bought two summers ago and it does not recognize the SDHC card. I looked up the downloads on HP's website and the latest firmware promises to allow the camera to use SD cards larger than 2gb, but it looks like the camera already has that version of the firmware. Initially one might think that such a firmware update will allow SDHC use, as those are generally what one refers to when talking about an SD-type card greater than 2gb, but Transcend actually makes several 4gb SD (not SDHC) cards available at Newegg and there may be 4gb SD cards made by other manufacturers. So, is there any way to get the R727 working with SDHC cards or is that camera'stechnology simply too old to work with the newer format card?
