I've not tried AutoHDR on a portrait before. Here's a couple of pics with 'Default' (Top) and 'Natural' (Btm) settings for comparison.

Few small fixes in 1.128:

Can specify a default startup directory
Can close the preview (click on the red X)
Possibly fixed location of preview on old operating systems (untested)

i just tried it with w2k and altho i don't know if the preview button had a problem before, it looked ok now. one thing i did notice as a change that you didn't mention above is when opening an image, it displays with original dimensions. v1.126 displays with the dimensions specified in 'advanced". which was very confusing to me as i was always uncertain which was the original and which was the preview! this way is better.

and while i have your attention, how can we save the changes made in 'advanced". i'm tired of changing 5% to 0 and making my preview bigger. is the only way to use one of the user buttons? won't that also save the detail... settings too? i might want that but, just askin'

Hmm. Odd - I don't remember changing the displayed dimensions - I'll look into that.

It does save your settings when you exit so that it starts up with whatever you set last time but it looks like I forgot to add those two settings. v1.129 now saves them as well.

Martin: the last version is repeating an old problem. Look here:

And the processed unresized pick:

Sorry about that. v1.130 handles it properly again.

Martin, I very much appreciate the opportunity you are giving us to participate in being the beta testers of your application. It works so well now, perhaps you might think about separating your releases. One could be the "gold" release, the other could be your latest beta build. It doesn't matter to me cause i can always go back and run an older version, but some folk might not be managing their computers that way. again, just an idea. providing us with your app and your active participation here are a big bonus. thanks.

Good idea. I've just uploaded a beta version if people would like to test it:

http://www.martinandanna.talktalk.ne...R1.131beta.exe

WARNING - It now uses .Net v4 so you might need to upgrade that first. It's allowed me to have a first attempt at some parallel programming which seems to be working well giving a 10% speed increase so far.

I've also changed the 'edge-safe smoothing' which I think works *much* better now and on the 'Normal' setting gives nice smooth skies yet retains the subtle clouds.

Have fun...
