I just downloaded 1.36 and will give it a try tonite. Just one small point, I like autoHDR so much, I put a copy on my task bar. But the icon is so blah, sometimes i forget what it is. Jazz it up. Please.

edit a little later: i have just tried it. user interface looks much nicer. i particularly appreciate being able to set the image parameters prior to opening an image. that was real awkward in earlier versions if you wanted to process more than 1 image.

speaking of process, is that now tone map?

and it appears that making a panorama by align and merge generates a bmp file. is that correct? i realize i can save it in a different format if i choose. thanks.

one more edit: i had to try the pano and it didn't work with a 4 image set that autostitch had pieced together with no trouble. here's the result:

Hi frank. It doesn't do panorama. It's only multiple exposures of the same shot at the moment. Panorama will have to be a future version if there's much call for it.

If you want to do a pano Hugin is the program you need to download. Here's a 6 shot pano that was stitched together with Hugin and tweaked with PDN. I have another version that is tweaked with autohdr but I have yet to upload it to Flickr.

I mis-understood. I took multiple exposures to mean pano. Maybe that's why your discussion of it didn't make 100% sense to me. Sorry.

and baka, i have tried Hugin and it seems very capable. but the user interface was just too much work. autostitch and ms ice work plenty good enough for my purposes. thanks tho.

It's tricky with the detail setting but should be possible with the others. Need to get the image alignment perfect first and then will look again at speeding it up. I might be able to have a single fixed detail setting and overlay with a fast micro detail setting which does quick local adjustment so the big slow bit is only needed once.

Martin, if I understand right, the last version of your software allows us to open several photos at the same session, in order to 'built' the hdr result? I downloaded this last version, but found no way to do that... Is there any place for instruction about that?a.
