v1.8 uploaded - can drag/drop images into the left-hand space

I think the quality is pretty good now but how does it compare to easyHDR for speed and ease of use?

I don't know easyHDR but it took me 3' 32" to process an image (not posted) with an Intel i7 2.66 GHz processor and 6Gb of RAM.
Would be nice to have a Save As feature.

v1.9 - Saving now brings up a standard save dialog so you can change the filename. Also changed the default to jpeg for smaller file sizes and the automatic filename is better.

Added the timing for myself as much as anything else so i can see whether the changes i'm making are making it faster. I think I've optimised it as much as I can now but might add a 'draft' version that will run much faster but at a lower quality.

Interesting. I think the one i definitely *don't* like is easyHDR on default settings - the skin tone just looks wrong. I quite like easyHDR with the skin tab except for the noise in the water and to my eyes there looks like a dark halo appearing around the left ear, left shoulder and right jaw. Mine is making them look a bit pale - I might need something to stop it being quite so agressive at the top and bottom of the range. Something to think about for the weekend...

Couldn't sleep :/

v10 just uploaded has a subtly different function for adjusting the brightness which I think looks more natural than before without being too weak. It basically weakens the effect slightly in the mid-tones which reduces the tendancy to get too light or too dark. Here is simple's test picture in the new version (although I guess simple worked at a higher-res?)
