Default Simple HDR effect

I found a very easy way to get an HDR-like effect using the 'clarify' command in Paint Shop Pro Photo X***. Adjust the strength to +20 and that's it. It's remarkably similar to the real thing and it's a lot simpler to do.

clarify is a micro contrast adjustment. which is something topaz adjust and the tone-mapping processin hdr gets boosted, so yea by going up on clarify you will get the micro contrast boost that is part of the look of a tone-mapped (or tone-mapped hdr) image. combining this with a saturation boost will give a tone-mapped looking image and is a quick and easy way to do it for scenes without alot of dynamic range.

Clarify can give good effects but I've found it works on a sort of grid system where it basically adjusts the contrast in each cell in a grid. Try applying it many times to the same image and you can see where the edges of the cells are.
