I have written a review of the Aiptek iCam2.4. This is unit looks very similar to the IS-DV2.4 and is on sale at Best Buy.

I may update the review with more info later. But I thought I would post it now before the sale ends.

This review may be useful to you even if you are not considering this model.

This review includes Linux compatibility information that may be useful to owners of other hybrid camcorders.

This review contains information about how to convert video files to play on the camera (with warts) using open source software.

This review contains information on optical performance and frame rates that may be of interest to other camcorder owners.

This review touches on a lot of issues that you may want to consider when evaluating other hybrid units. And if you are an engineer working for one of the companies that make these things you should read it.

This review contains a video clip and a bunch of full resolution images.

This review has information on magnification, microscopes, barcodes, and use as a portable media player.

This review is written primarly for Linux operating system users. Windoze users will want to skim over the linux specific stuff.
