Using the FE-12 I am realizing that when I am with the lens hooked up te distance is like 2 plus optical further, making the cameras field deeper. SO whatever is in the distance, becomes muc further away, I can sit in a room on top of te cam, and ave a ton of view on the vide.

SO If Iwere to shoot/film something in te greater distance I am best not to use the FE-12.

This is where I am learning more and more to use it , rather tem putting it away.

I preferre to use what I purchased, tan store to a dusty self.

I'm with the same problem.
Updated the firmware from 1.03 to 1.12.
Before updating all was OK. But after the update, my playsport apears the same red exclamation spot (!) and turns off.
Moreover the batery does not recharge anymore.

I'd like to know how can I reset to the first firmware (1.03).
I've already writen to kodak a few hours ago, but got no awnser until now.

Firmware uploading at first is difficult, and then after loaded, seems easy,

A folder must be named SYSTEM, and i hear, it is no longer needed on newer models,

And you just hit the check mark, it is very Picphonics today,

If you have gotten a issue, did you guys retry the firmware flashing?

1 Kodak will not offer the consumer or outside firmware of FW1.01 tey say tat firmware does not exist, and is trased once the camcorder is made,
In order for the consumer to achieve te Firmware's orginal you must send in your cam for a refurbished unit, they have to reflash.

2. Kodak zx3 has not yet been found of the orginal, nor the test setting, like the Zi8.

As I already wen through hours on chat, and phone call, I did manage to get a number for PARTS, and tat I had to pull strings, to get throug.

Maybe Dave, or Martin will help. But they will say it is Propriarity info. Wis you luck, and if you do get that wish, Please pass it on

Today, I went to the Pool, and te jacuzi. The Zx-3 went in with a FE-12 lens. the Water tempeture wa above a certain degree that may not meet the Kodak Standards. Kodak does not thoroughly go through their Standards, wit you. The Aftermarket lens will be examined later, as the Zx-3 needs to dry, the lineir/camera strap.

I found using the cam in the water and swimming, was not the best, as I either hit the record, stopped the vid, difficult holding but only due to my personal reasons. I was having Fun lol doing the vid.

the cam met all my expectations under water, and only if I had my tripod, I would ave bit down and swam.

After doing hte Pool reviews, remembering this cam is a good year plus old now, the Battery door just sown wear, te rubber covering is wearing and exposing metal, aluminum and will not rust. Black magic marker, or special rubber paint can be applied. If I have to I will color it correctly.

As he wrote "stuff like a full-on CHDK-suite for Ambarella-based devices is in theory possible" and if someone will do this, it would be a wonderful mod.

Maybe it may be possible to set the record at 25 frames/s (GoproHD guys did it, and there is also a processor ambarella as ZX3), like many other features, not only tetris would be great
