Default Technaxx C7000 quick review

I just bought on eBay a defective Technaxx C7000 (bottom type plate "DZO-V502") which is technically almost identical with my Aiptek T300LE (see there). Even the menus look the same (i.e. no typical Engrish Technaxx word mess). The only difference is that the C7000 has an additional MP3 mode with lyrics display, the TFT picture looks nicer (less cyan) and the case is different (silver, slightly longer and bulkier). Also the zoom speed and (fairly usable) lowlight might be even a tiny bit better.

The mainboard type is "DZO-V3T MAIN BOARD, 59-418-01000-000, REV:E". On the flash rom is a green sticker "V50, 5701".

Unfortunately my specimen is defective; when the screen is on, it locks up (picture freezes, no response on any controls or closing the screen) after some 10 seconds, which particularly happens during menu operation. This happens even with ultra high quality rechargeables (Varta Ready2Use) thus it is no battery problem. Possibly Technaxx overclocked the CPU too much to make it faster. Only in webcam mode it doesn't freeze.
