Does anyone know a good place where I can have my 35mm negative transferred to cd's or dvd? I went to Ritz today and they want .75 cents for one picture on a negative. I have a lot of negatives soI thought that would be a little pricey.

It'll be pricey and slow however it's done because of all the careful handling and dust avoidance that's necessary.

You need a filmscanner, plus Ed Hamrick's wonderful 'Vuescan' software (http://www.hamrick.com). It's worth looking there first to get a feel for filmscanning. He has recommendations on filmscanners, and I'd take them seriously. I found him enormously helpful when I did a lot of filmscanning about 8 years ago. That's how I got into digital photography, before acquiring my first digicam.

I still have many thousands of colour slides awaiting scanning, but the effort involved would be gigantic, so I'd don't expect it'll ever be done. Anyway, I don't have a filmscanner any more.

If you have (or invest in) a dSLR for which you can get a slide copier attachment (with its own lens), you could rephotograph the negs. I had excellent results copying negs & slides with a film SLR years ago. I sold the copier attachment with the camera.

If you search these forums, these gadgetshave been discussed, and are available. To search efficiently, take Bill Drew's advice...

...and use 'GoogleAdvanced Search', with http://forums.steves-digicams.com/forums/as the "search only in" domain.

Good luck!
