Default scanning vey old negatives - many sizes

I have just inherited a a suitcase full of old black and white family photos - with many, many negatives. I would like a scanner that could scan those b&w negatives and also scan my own color 35 mm slides and negatives.

I don't want to spend a fortune, maybe $250 max preferably less - I just want to be able to scan and get some reasonable quality image which I can play with in Photoshop.

My real problem when looking at scanners is that most seem to be designed with 35mm in mind - I have a multitude of sizes I might want to scan - 35mm, 120, 127, 110 and some very strange negatives from the 1920's of unknown format.

I guess a film scanner is out of the question - because of the formats and my budget constraint. But is there a flat bed scanner which could cope with the multiple formats and scan these negatives?

Thanks,
Richard

Look at "How to select a photo scanner 2003" under Steve's image/film scanners. It's at the bottom of the page. An Epson 3200 can scan larger negatives as well as 35mm negatives and slides. You may be able to find it at less than $300.

I second that on the Epson 3200.
