Default Plustek opticfilm 7200 VS Flat bed Scanner

Are the Plustek opticfilm 7200 or 7300 35mm scanner better than most flat bed scanners such as the Epson V500 or the Canon 8800f?

Does can it compete or beat the Epson V700?

No matter how much I have looked I have not been able to find a comparison. I have found stuff like "dedicated 35mm is better that flat bed" but most of those people were referring to the coolscan 5000 which cost allot of $$$$.

has anyone had or know of any comparison between 7200/7300 and the v500/8800f. The reason am comparing these is because they are in the same price range.

I have the 7300 - it is good enough, but you might want to avoid it if you have a Mac - it cannot use the Plustek operating software which is PC only, and thus must be used with the supplied Silverfast application which does not support all of the Plustek's advertised features. Attached is a scan from an Ektachrome 400 slide scanned into PSE6 (Mac) - earlier versions of Silverfast did not support PSE.
