Default Epson Perfection 1670 - your thoughts?

I have some old photo albums, negatives and slides I would like to scan. This scanner has an adopter for negatives and slides. I've read good reviews about this scanner and it is priced just over $100.

Anyone with experience using this scanner, please let me know what you think. Are there any better alternatives to this scanner in the same price range?

You won't be able to print good 8x10 prints from 35 mm film or slides unless you scan at 3000dpi or greater. Don't waste your money on the 1670 go for the Epson 3200 as an alternative.
