Default Scanjet 8300 shows vertical streaks when scanning a picture or a negative.

Who can help me further? Who had this problem seen before? (see enclosure).
I already open the scanner and oil the guide-rails, but no change.
I have tried scanning on three different computers with Windows 7 and XP, it makes no difference, the streaks stays. Is there perhaps an electronical problem?

My best guess, and it's only a guess, is that the problem is caused by power supply noise, probably due to failing filter capacitors. A faulty section of a bridge rectifier could be the culprit, also.

Thank you ! I investigate the power-supply, that could possibly the fault. The scanner also stops regular working after a few scans.
