Default Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer

I am debating about getting a photo scanner to digitize all of my pictures and I have the Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer. This includes a scanner and I was curious if anyone could tell me whether this scanner works well for digitizing pictures, or whether I should get a separate photo scanner?

Default scanning pictures

My MP560 scans pictures (printed, color, B&W) and documents well. I do a lot of scanning of my wife's watercolor paintings (over 100 so far) and make web sites displaying them or make note paper for gifts. The Stitch-Assist feature works well as 99% of the paintings are larger than 8.5X11.
