Default How to convert the 16mm microfiche to digital?

As I was dusting my dad's old study I found some old film. They were 16mm microfiche. I showed them to my dad. It was about some old news and reports he worked on. I found it very informative. Some films are partially damaged. That made me think about scanning and saving in digital format.

I searched online for how to scan these to find a microfiche scanning service in Toronto. They convert the microfiche to digital. I first thought about using my friend's home scanner to save it. I am hoping I can get better quality conversion if I reach out to the professionals. But, I would like to know if I can use the regular canon color image scanner?

If your scanner has a transparency adapter, you may be able to use it.
The question I have is whether it is microfilm, which is in rolls, or microfiche, which is a flat sheet? Your mention of 16mm leads me to think it is film, which should work with a transparency adapter without too much trouble. Fiche would need a different arrangement, or possibly, could be cut to fit.

It is fiche and not the film. My friend's scanner is Epson Photo Scanner and it has got a transparency adapter. (8" x 10") I will have to cut the fiche then.
