I just want to scan some of my old negatives to have themon my computer. Therefore, I'll use a Epson Perfection 3170 Photo scanner (Flatbed with film option).

But I don't know which settings I should use. I tried many more (from 800 DPI up to 4800 DPI (it's a long looooong time scanning in 4800 DPI :shock).

So could You give me some advice? How much DPI, how much enlargement? Original or up to 7x5?

Ok, at 4800 DPI, resultst are pretty good, but the files are going huge! Over 600 Mo for some of the scanned negatives! How should I stock them?

So, I'm a little bit confused and I would greatly appreciate some help!

Thank You in advance!
