I am looking to start a very small Home Business doing Digital back ups of boxes of pictures negatives slides and pretty much whatever you can think of to make digital. It started out being something I wanted to do for myself and family but with my hubby loosing his job I have decided to TRY (I stress try ) to maybe make some money doing it. I am having a hard time finding info and good reviews of products. Here is what I am looking for:

I need a professional quality scanner that can do as many film types as possible without loosing quality. I am willing to spend a bit of $$$ cost is not a huge factor I just want to give the best quality possible in my limited space.

If anyone has any suggestions i.e.: personal review, web links, or specs to look at, Please Post.

Your help is greatly appreciated

ps. I would like to put the pictures on a dvd/cd for viewing on computer/tv via dvd player and possible printing also wondering if anyone has suggestions for long term storage

I have been using an Imacon Flextight scanner, the early model that scans up to 4800 dpi. If you can find one used for sale, it will do what you describe In addition to film, it will scan reflectrive material as well.
