Hi All,

About 5 months ago, I bought aCanon Pixma MP530. Iam surprised to find that the ink is already runningout, since I haven't been printing much.

An ink reseller told me, that the printer head cleaing procedure, executed when turning the printer on, is causing a substantial waste of ink. He sugested leaving the printer on over night (I used to turn off mains during night).

Can someone confirm that I actually save ink, by leaving the printer on, or am I just wasting power?

Is the head cleaning more comprehensive, when resuming after mains disconnect, than resuming from standby, using the printer on/of switch?

Will the nozzles get clogged if the the printer is left on, preventing the daily head cleaning?

Thanks, G

It is my understanding that if you actuate the auto on/off feature via the printer driver maintenence tab that you will avoid the head cleaning that goed with each turn on.
