Default Paper for New Canon i860/I865

Hello All,

I am a proud new owner of an i865 (which is the i860 in NA). My decision was to have a printer that does both excellent photo printing and color printing. It also had to do well with just text printing.

While I am using the Canon Photo Plus Glossy PP-101, how much nicer would a move to the PR-101 Pro paper be?

Also, what paper should I use for regular everyday printing of color graphics and just black text pages?

Cheers.

Hello: For photos I followed some advice as seen in this forum and bought some Red River 68LB Ultra Gloss to try for my Canon i950.
I have to say that so far it is by far the best photo paper I have used. The actual Canon brand higher end papers I tried were not acceptable for fading right away. Go to www.redriverpaper.com for
a view of what is available. Good luck, Mike

Try to use toilet paper. It should deliver excellent detail, sharpness and gloss...

Seriously

- pr-101 is nice (quite stiff and very glossy)
- pp-101 is nice (less glossy and less stiff, despite the fact that it's heavier)

- picotrico photo gallery glossy paper is very nice (a must-use)

- - search the archives of this forum, there were many posts about this - -

FOR HI-res DOCs:

- Canon Brilliant White Paper
- Canon HR-101 coated paper

FOR NORMAL DOCs:

- Bright white papers from other manufacturers (such as HP)
- Canon Brilliant White Paper

Don't use laser papers
