Have any of you experienced this issue and have a solution? I bought new cartidges to replace the old but.... the color ones all print but the black will not. It does not matter if I use the new ones or old.
I have cleaned the heads, deep cleaned the heads, head alignment and black does not print. NOW the crazier part: If I copy a black item, it prints in black. Admittidly a little light but it prints in black. THANK YOU for your help! |

Spoke to Canon. The issue is that Black ink is pigment based and will dry. The print heads are separate from the ink cartridges in this printer and they are dry. A new print head is on the way! YEA!
The color cartridges are dye based and do not suffer from this issue. Lower end printers have more expensive ink, the colors are all in one tank and then black and the print heads are included in the ink. Trade-offs. Depending on conditions and usage. Thank you for reading and thoughts. |
