Default Canon i960 and what paper?

Today I picked up a new Canon i960 printer from Sams for $136.00.

They had no Canon ink jet paper, so I bought some Georgia Pacific Image Plus paper, about 6 bucks for 100 sheets of glossy.

Now, there are claims of super quality on the package, but....

Actually I bought it for event photography, because I heard it was real fast.

The prints don't need to be super quailty, just show a decent shot and not look terrible 6 months from now.

Ideas?

I love the redriverpaper company paper. You can order a sample pack of all their papers to determine which one you like. Here is a link to their web site:

I'll concur with Phil's recommendation of Red River Paper. That's what I use with my i960 with great results. Download the color profiles for the i960 from Red River if you're using color management software, otherwise download their recommendations for printer settings.

Wow - $136.00 is an awesome price for that printer. Congradulations. Whatever your yearly fee is for Sam's Club - you just recovered it!

That's still a good price. I suspect someone made a mistake like giving the i960 the i860 price in that one store.

Can some one please tell me what "color management software" is? I have the Cannon I9100 printer and I am using the print software that came with the printer. I ordered Photo Paper from Red River and down loaded their ICC profiles. How do I ues these profiles & the "color management software"

Thanks for any help!
