Hi Everyone

I bought some A4 matt card from www.m-techdirect.co.uk, but no matter what settings I set my printer to use (Canon i865), the prints are poor. I am using original canon ink.

Using 'matt photo paper' gives the most vibrant results, but the edges are a bit fluffy. Just using plain paper is okay, but the colours are poor and dull.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Could this card simple work fine in a different printer, like Epson or something?

Any info much appreciated

It is very possible that the paper is to heavy for the printer that you are using. The Canon Matte paper is around 170 gsm. You need to be careful not to let the paper hit the printhead.

Also. are you printing on the correct side of the paper? Most matte finished papers can onlybe printed on one side, unless noted.

Was this paper recommended for a dye type printer?

You might want to try the Photo Pro Glossy setting, as this is set to take a thicker paper. I am not sure how the results will look, but I did this for some canvas material in my old I9100, and it worked great.

Hope this helps

Hi Bill

Thanks for the reply.

I am printing on the correct side (and I tried the other side just to be sure!)... your suggestion to try Photo Pro Glossy didn't produce any better results, so I guess I'm stuck now :-(

Thanks anyway for the suggestions
