Default Compatible ink tanks for i950 recommended?

I have been searching in google for user comments and reviews on using compatible inks on the Canon i950 but unsuccesful. I'm hoping to get the question answered here.
I don't have the printer yet but I just ordered it and it should arrive next week.
Are they good? How does it compare to the OEM brand?

If your wanting to use ink carts that are not of canon brand, you do know if anything happens to your printer (ie the ink leaks and makes a mess etc) you void your warranty right?

I didn't know that. I have an Epson 860...it's old I know but I've been using ink4art's compatible inks on it and it saves me a bundle.

Its where the manufacturer makes all their money. Their ink.

If it works then keep using them. Its was just a word of caution most the time they work, sometimes they don't.

Hi Asian811,
I have a new i950 also, and love its amazing photo printing abilities, but have only used the Canon inks thus far. On the "Printers and Printing" forum of the dpreview web-site:
http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1003
the refillable ink kits from Inkjetgoodies has received pretty glowing reviews from user/posters on that forum. Do a search there for alternate inks or inkjetgoodies etc. and you will find many posts speaking of very positive experiences with them. I am going to order a starter kit at some point myself, as the cost per refill get's down to about $1 US per cartridge. The kits include 6 125ml bottles of OEM equivilant ink, syringes, and 6 refillable/reuseable canon BCI-6 type cartridges. Here is a link to the inkjet goodies web-site:

Good luck! You're going to love this printer! Curt
