For the 850 you have to have the adapter to use filters. The standard Kodak adapter is 55mm. I have a 52mm adapter that came with the first lens kit I bought. I accidently bought 55mm filters and had to order the step up ring. I'veheard that if you go too big in size and have to use a stepup ring it can cause some vignetting. I've never had any problems like that though.

For the 880, if i'm wrong someone correct me, I believe you can use filters right on thelens without an adapter.

Thanks Dani! I'll take a closer look at the camera store next time I go. And have them show me what's what.
