Default Kodak CX4200 : A gift?

I might be going to Asia this summer, and have to get a digital camera for someone. (Its a gift). I have narrowed by choice down to the CX4200. Its seems to offer the most "bang for the buck".

I really dont care about the lack of zoom.

My main question is, how is the camera in general? And will it work fine in Asia if I purchase it from North America. It uses AA batteries, so I assume it will work fine.

Yeah - you'll be fine in asia. Just take some NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) or Li-ion (Lithium-ion) batteries.

The alkalines the camera comes with are really only for demo purposes and won't last long.
