The Biscayne Bay is warming up its engine and geting ready to go out early on a foggy morning to do some icebreaking. It was breaking up to three feet of ice on part of Lake Superior a couple of weeks ago. The Biscayne has a special built bow so that it has the ability to run up on top of the ice and crush it with its weight. Taken between seven and seven thirty on 3/26/07/ andy 74

That's a sturdy looking vessel and I'd think it was top heavy except that it's an ice breaker and it's got to have tons of steel on the bow. The lines securing it don't look all that sturdy but they must have what they need at the time. Thanks for the view and information.
