I see a lot of posts on the Z712 camera and not much op the P712.

Has the Z taken over the 7 mp range of camera's?

I am still using my P712 as a back up camera to my Sony A-100.
The Kodak is more convenient for quick get togethers and such when there is reasonable light.

Even though I sold my soul to the dSLR world a while back and got rid of my P-series, I wasrecommending the P880in the "what camera to buy" forums whenSarah informed me that Kodak has been backing down from their P-series and they are becoming very hard to find.

The Z Series hasn't really taken over for the P Series rather the P Series has just been dropped. Nothing in the Z Series has external flash or RAW capabilities. Mind you I'm a Z612/712/812 enthusiast but for a small market segment there's just no comparison

If I interpret correctly from the Kodak forum at DPReview there are some that are scouring the market for P880s and to a lesser extent P712s to use as spares for their current P's and or as backup for their DSLRs.

The P's were more expensive to make in a lot of respects and the profit is better with the Z range so money ruled. And Inn....You still have a pure heart.
