Default Dx6490 Battery charging info

First, I want to thank all of you for your insight into the Dx6490 camera. I learned alot during the wee hours of the morning reading your posts.

I was very close to buying this camera, particularly due to the lens and lcd screen. I ultimately went with the Canon Powershot A80. The main reason was the inconvenience of the battery and charging for this camera. I called Kodak and asked if the proprietary battery pack could be charged by just plugging the AC adaptor into the camera, and they said no. If you don't want to lug the base they give you on vacation, you must buy a recharger, and you must remove the battery from the camera to charge it in the recharger. Also, I read on the battery package on their website that you can charge the battery "up to 300 times". You can recharge other NiMH batteries 1000 times. I was at a Circuit City today and was listening to a sales person give poor advice to a woman about this camera. I told her much of what I learned from this site, and she was particularly interested in the battery situation as well.

Thanks again for your time and advice.
