Default An odd Z812 problem

My four year old got ahold of my Z812, and apparently knocked it from its perch to boot. I can take photos and zoom all fine and dandy, LCD works, on screen indicators and menus are there. It's just none of the modes work on the dial. Video, shooting modes, nothing. You turn the dial and nothing changes.

I did try to reinstall the firmware, but still nothing. Anyone have any idea of what's gone wrong? I suppose I'm happy I can still do photos with no problem, but just no fancy stuff.

It sounds like one of the leads to the Mode Control dial was broken loose in the fall. I am sorry to hear that.
