Default Internal battery in Z712, Z1012????

Can anyone tell me if either of these cameras uses an internal (hidden) lithium battery for the time and date??? I find that every time I change the normal KLIC 8000 lithium ion battery the time and date must be reset. Makes no difference if I switch the discharged and fresh batteries quickly (say 15 seconds or so) either.... Thx in advance for any information you can share...

Hi Rickster - just joined Steve's and maybe you won't read this but all I can say is your problem is quite common with certain Kodak cameras which may have either a lithium battery or a capacitor, both of which can have a short life.

A DX6490 I had years ago manifested your problem not long out of warranty but the DX6490 I got via eBay two years ago and of the same age as my original one and my seven year-old DX7590 are still going strong.

Isn't life a lottery! .
