My 6490 is requesting reformatting of my sandisk 128 after I have taken a few pictures. The card has the pictures on it because I have printed them off at the pharmacy quick print reader. I have however lost pictures because of it. After I reformat I can take pictures again. The camera is 6 months old and has not had heavy use in terms of number of pictures or physical abuse. Am I doing something wrong or is the camera faulty and needs repair? artb

If you need the images back then the only program I could recommend is Photorescue as it finds much more than the others.

Try a thumbnail demo here http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/

You are supposed to format the card when you first use it,,,,,did you,,,if not,,try it,,,can`t hurt anything,,,,doubt the DC is the problem,,,,if reformatting the card does not help,,,try another card,,,someone elses if necessary,,,before condeming the DC , and sending it in,,,it is more likely the card is the problem,,,than the camera..
