Tiffen has a line of 37mmand 43mm adapters...I know nothing about them, but I stumbled across them the other day online atCamera Canada (here)

I've got a DX6490 and was wondering if the 43mm would work without needing the Kodak adapter...I think the adapter is 43->55mm, but I imagine that the zoom lens would extend too far and bump theaccessory lens. The 37mm onesmight work with the adapter for 7440, 7630, etc?

I own a DX7630 and i purchased the kodak adapter lens. I noticed that with filters on it the lens would open hit the filter and turn off the camera. I ended up having to buy an extension for the adapter. Because when kodak made the 7630 adapter they made it for their lenses which have a curved bottom to it.

my 2 cents.
