Default EasyShare Software ??

i just checked at the Kodak site to see if there was new software available and see there's now only one download ??
when i last looked there were separate downloads for Camera Connection & Picture Transfer software ...
i had frequent crashes with those versions (CCS13 and PTS14) in Win98SE, so i used Linux (gPhoto2 & Digikam) for transferring the pics.
how's this new Kodak software ?? using a DX-3600 ...

I can't really comment on the old software or crashes since I've only had a Kodak Digicam (DX4900 here) for a bit less than 2 weeks.

But, in that period of time, I've used it quite a bit and have transferred a couple of hundred of pictures and never had any trouble with version 2 of Easyshare.

It's effectively one download and you get the connectivity drivers, the transfer software plus the photo album functionality.

It works fine and has never crashed on my Win98SE machine. It is a nice way to review pictures taken. I then tend to convert them into TIFF files and work on them in Photoshop Elements. So I can't tell you much about edit functionality or print quality of the new Easyshare software.

Hope this helps,

thanks for the reply !
i'm also not interested in the edit & album software, so it's a pity they decided to make it one big download instead of separate smaller dl's i only want the transfer software.
but i'll give it a try anyway, maybe it will run better on my Win98Se too ...
