Easy, rar them up or uharc compression does it for me much better than winzip as the compression is excellent especially in uharc.
I usually make 7 100mb uharc files to fill up my cd's then burn them in nero (best) or whatever program you like:-)

The most important part is to save the files exactly as they come off of the camera, that is your negative so to speak. Burn these to CD. Then make a copy to edit to your taste, and for our viewing pleasure of course, LOL. CD's are cheap, so burn away. I'm thinking of getting an external drive also, that way I have my files in at least 3 places.

I have an external 80gb drive on which I keep my pictures. Actually thought I would move it between systems, but never have.

After seeing this and other posts here I think I'll start burning my pics as you never know when hardware is going to crash.
