hello, i'm from Portugal and i want to buy a digicam. i read a lot of things but i'm still in doubt.

I read some about the new kodak z730 and i came very enthusastic, this camara have a new lens ( schneider) how seems to be better than the kodak one. However i canĀ“t take a decision yet.

And i want to make you some questions:

- do you think this z730 is a good camara?

- do you think the brand kodak is good?

- instead of this z730, do you think i could chose other camara?

My kind of photos: Nature, Macro, people (faces - black/white mode)

Thank you very much and excuse my english, i understand everything but i can't write well enough.

I think that this camera is very good. It is an improved version of the DX7440 (with 5 Mpixels sensor) and this camera has a lot of satisfied customers according to the posts in several forums.

The camera has a good set of manual options and a very easy to use interfase, including a jog dial.

The camera has good low light performance and the lens has very good results acording to some reviews. Macro is good (not the best), but the flash is usable (only few small digicams can do it)...

There is a complain about Kodak overprocess of images, that can be seen at 100% in the screen, but if you print the images at sizes up to 8x10" or even 11x14" (I never printed bigger sizes in 26 years...) you will be very satisfied with the results.

The camera is a little thick for my taste, but it has a good ergonomics and is easy to handle with 1 hand.

Test of the DX7440: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/DX7440/DX74A.HTM

Another DX7440 test: http://www.digicamreview.com/kodak_e...440_review.htm

Some Z730 sample images from a chinese site (is slow, nbe patient)...

I agree with Alvaro-

The camera is a wonderful beginner/intermediate digital camera. It has many enthusiastic users and is capable of producing excellent photo, provided the are not printed larger than 11" X 14".

I believe you will enjoy the camera.
