There seems to be a new firmware version 1.07 for Kodak v550 on Kodak's Website. Announced improvements are:

- Improved Redeye correction
- Improved Video Capture

I'll try it later an post a follow-up.

Well I've just flashed my camera with the latest firmware and there seem to be two improvements in video mode. The first one is that the video is smoother. With the previous versions I found that the video was kind of jumpy (especially noticeable when panning the camera sideways)... My camera seems to be much smoother now!!!

Other thing, which may just be my impression (I'm indoors and can't really test it further right now) is that the image quality in video mode is also better. Seems a little less grainy and sharper... but it may be due to the specific scenario I'm shooting (very little detailed items and completely white walls).

All in all, I'm extremely happy with this firmware so far!

I have also upgraded to fw 1.0.7.

I trust Kodak in its description about the improvements (you reported already).

To be honest, on the v550 LCD itself, even back in 1.0.6, I could not notice "jumpy" video.

I'll try to notice your 2nd finding i.e. sharper video quality.

Thanks for the update!
