HI guys.... have been having a ball taking a LOT of pictures with my DX6490 with the new 1.7 Olympus lens... Thanks again for all your help awhile back..

Just wondering why you choose to use the Olympus rather than the Kodak lens?? Is it because its just a 1.4 and the Olympus is a 1.7 ???

Is it better quality with the Olympus? Has anyone tried the one from Kodak?

Just curious...

I choose the olympus tcon because of his better magnification!!

I think the kodak and the olympus tcon are the same for the picture quality:-)

Lens quality is about the same but the Olympus has more magnification! 1.7X10X gives a 17X magnification. 1.4X times 10X gives a 14X magnification! Boily says the Olympus lens will give vignetting at all Zoom ranges with the P880 and this may be why Kodak kept the Kodak lens at 1.4 as it will allow you to use it with the P880 Kodak camera! But for almost all the other 10X- + cameras the Olympus just gives high quality magnification at a good price! Nuff sed!!!!! Well maybe someone will do a good 2-3X one one of these days!
