I put the new firmware on the Camera, but I always shoot fine JPEG or RAW, but everytime I shue itt the camera off and turn it back on I always hve to change it back to fine JPEG or RAW, and this makes it difficult to take quick shots right when you turn on the camera?

Help would be Appreciated,

Did this just start happening after you did the firmware? If I'm not mistaken, that's just one of the things we 850 users have to deal with.

Yeah it's a nightmare isn't it. Try using the custom modes. Thankfully that saves your settings.

No-- something like being abducted by aliens is a nightmare.... this is a mere annoyance which you will never be exposed to once you start using the other modes the camera offers besides Auto. Try using P... it's like Auto but with exposure compensation available. It's been discussed quite a bit in this arena. I think the improved autofocus more than makes up for this minor irritation.
