On my Z7590, outdoor sports scenes were almost imposible to compose on bright sunny days due to the reflections in the LCD.

My new P712 will be here this next week and it has an even larger (2.5" LCD) which the specs state has adjustable brighness.

Will that be an improvement or are there other items I may need for shots like these?

Thanks all

The easy solution here is to use the viewfinder. Most serious photographers do because it never has the problem you mentioned, and it lets you shoot at lower shutter speeds without shake. (I can shoot 432mm at 1/10th of a second with no blurriness sometimes and I could never do that with the LCD).

If you must you the LCD, set it as bright as it can go and hope for the best... there are some glare resistant coatings out there, but I dont' know where you'd find them...

I use the View finder almost exclusively. About the only time I don't is at night or in extremely low light situations when I'm taking timed exposures! It's great for reviews but even then the view finder lets you see those better in bright light!
