Hey everyone, I was wondering if I would get any vignetting if I attached 3 Tiffen 0.9 ND filters to my camera at once.

I want to get a range between 3 and 9 stops darker in my shots, however ordering a 0.9 and a 1.8 filter is more expensive than just getting three 0.9's (and the 1.8 isn't in stock).

So will that give me any vignetting having 3 filters on at once?

Most likly.

Try to avoid too many layers of glass in front of your lens. All that internal reflection off the filter surfaces could degrade image quality.

A polarizer will act like a ND lens too.

Might get a little and that is why they give them to you in differing shades! I use the Cokin A-series filters when I'm stacking a lot of them together and the filters and the holder are so much bigger than the lens that no vignetting occurs! Here is one with a Skylite 1-A filter, a Polorizer filter and a 120 Gradual gray ND filter stacked with a shade attached!
