Default sjms, about the 7i to "close-to-7Hi" upgrade ...

There's no firmware upgrade that will add the features of the 7Hi to the 7i, because the main differencies are bigger buffer and PC sync socket - both hardware.

I take that sjsm mixed the 7i and the 7. There's a (chargeable) firmware update that brings the original 7 as close to the 7i as possible. It adds live histogram, UHS mode etc. to the feature set of the 7, but - of course - not the sound recording capability and wireless flash control, because these features need new hardware as well.
