i have a dimage a1 that recently had a ccd chip problem. the chip went bad and isent it to sony and they replaced the ccd chip. i mainly photograph locomotives and trains. these photographsare taken outside during daylight hours. sometimes the sky is blue or overcast. i seem to be having a problem with the images after they are auto enhanced using an hp digital image software program. when i auto enhance the image, the image will have white lines across the sky area and somtimes the entire photograph. this happened a couple of times with the bad ccd but seems to be constant with the new ccd. could anyone explain these white lines and tell me how to avoid them. or is this another ccd problem?

This could be a CCD problem, but could also be your image processing program. My recommendation would be to shoot in RAW mode and check the image in the RAW converter that came with your camera. If this shows banding, then it is very likely the CCD.
