Default a1 ccd cross compatibly ?

a friend of mine has a A!, she missed the recall so it's going to sit in the closet till>>>... i have a g500 that died a while back...the CCD wasn't the issue so it's good, they are both 5megpix.... , anyone know if they use the same CCD? i'll crack em open and do the swap if they are , the a1 is such a nice little item be a shame bury it in the closet if there's a chance to get it back online , thanks for any info in advance. aaron52

No. They do not use the same CCD (the CCD in the A1 is larger than the one in the G500).
