Default D7i Rubber eyepiece

Got the runaround when I called the nearest authorised Minolta repair shop. (Got passed to 3 different places - local to regional reps)
They said probably send the D7i to factory repair in N.J. They won't only replace the rubber eyepiece but keep the camera several weeks and 'go through the whole camera' meaning lots of extra $.

Anyone else have the factory repair shop replace the eyepiece?

(Maybe they'll sell the eyepiece?

A local store selling Minolta didn't want to try ordering the eyepiece because Minolta requires a minimum order .

My parrot chewed up the eyepiece on my D7i the first day I had it. I put an eyepiece from Orion telescopes online (3 for $10) and really liked the improvement. Many people added them whose stock eyepiece was fine. I put one on my FZ10 as well but it took a little work to adapt it. It fits the Minolta perfectly.
