Default Is it normal for Dimage 7 to get warm?

I just got a reconditioned dimage 7 with a 6 month warranty, put a couple of batteries in and it started to get warm around the handle. I was using 1700 Energizers. Is this normal for the di7 or maybe this is why is was reconditioned?
I am planning to upgrade firmware maybe this will help?

Yeap! about pretty normal that's where the heatsink is and the magnesium body help conduct the heat as well. It depends on your use, but reviewing pictures is when the camera get the warmest but should not get too hot though! Warm is OK.

yes- it is the undocumented rht hand only warmer feature. this also carries on into the D7i also. i was so happy when that carried through to the newer model. it was that feature that almost kept me from selling my D7 to my friend. he loves that feature too. now if they had a left handed model?

Default Microdrive hand-warmer

The Micro Drive also can warm your hand.
Never taken a tremendously long series of shots to know if it (or the grip) gets hot.

Gradually learning the D7i. Looking forward to when I operate it intuitively under pressure.
